If This Is Any Indication of What a Peace Candidate on the 8th Congressional Ballot Would Bring To the Table, the Fall Campaign Could Be Exciting

Here is a press release criticizing U.S. Senate Democrats for not support Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold's motion to censure President George Bush for breaking the law:
Bill Scheurer Challenges Democrats on Feingold Censure Resolution

Bill Scheurer, independent candidate for U.S. Congress in the Illinois 8th District, is challenging Democrats in the U.S. Senate to support Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold’s resolution to censure President George W. Bush over violations of federal law related to illegal wiretapping.

Scheurer blamed the Democrats for not standing up against Bush administration excesses. "Evidently, the Democratic Party has evolved to the point where the Donkey is no longer a vertebrate. These people have no spine at all. No wonder the country does not trust them."

He says the lack of support given to Feingold by fellow Democrats is an indication of why the Bush administration has gotten away with doing so much damage to the image of the United States in world opinion.

"Considering that Bush, by his own admission, has violated the law, trampled on the Constitution, and trashed international treaties, the remedy of censure is only a small first step in holding him and other members of this administration accountable for their crimes." Scheurer said.
