District 300 Tax Hike Committee Reports Getting More Money

Starting with $20,223.91 in the bank, the District 300 tax hike committee apparently did not collect all of its money in time to hide it from the public until March 7th.

The end of the first week in March is the deadline for filing what are called pre-election reports with the State Board of Elections. That’s when all contributions made between the beginning of 2006 and February 19th--30 days before the election--are due.

But, there is this huge black hole from January 1st through March 7th when contributions can be kept secret from the public.

There is no delay in reporting contributions over $500 after February 20th, however. They must be reported within two days after receipt.

And apparently the District 300 tax hike committee has money that it was unable to collect early enough to hide until March 7th.

Here’s what has showed up so far:

$5,000 – 2/28 - Robert Arthur Land Company, 4N645 School Road, St. Charles, IL has 403 acres on Big Timber Road south of the Tollway in Hampshire.

$3,000 – 2/28 - Franczek Sullivan PC 300 S. Wacker Drive, Suite 3400, Chicago, IL The law firm is District 300’s legal counsel.

$1,000 – 2/27 - TWJ Associates Ltd. 3436 N. Kennicott Ave., Arlington Heights, IL, TWJ is a developer

$1,000 – 2/25 – B and H Industries, 80 West Seegers Road, Arlington Heights, IL (Advance 300 apparently reported the last contribution twice.) The company specializes in "Digital Document Reproduction, Document Scanning, Color Reproductions and Signage, Printing Equipment, Service and Supplies," according to its web site.

Comments:
We have gotten money, that is true. The only amounts of money that we have to make public are the donations of over $500. This does, as you had stated, needs to be sent in within two days, because it is a regulation with the way things work.

Now to the point, why is it a problem if we have been recieving donations from people of the community and out of the community who believe in what we are doing?
Is the opposing side not working with money? Well, they are, and you haven't seen us sink to your level by making a huge deal about it.

The other issue that has been getting at me, is the use of calling us the "Tax-Hike Committee". We are Advance 300!

What about calling your opposing side the "Trying to Get People to Vote No to Take Away Activities From the Students Committee".

Well, I hope that all of you can stop nit-picking at the smallest, most stupid, childish things.

Well, Don't forget to vote YES-YES on March 21st, 2006!!!!
