Blagojevich Returns Dirty Money to Dems & (Alleged) Syndicate Firm, But GOP Dirty Money Goes to Charity
When a Democrat or an accused crime syndicate firm contributes to Governor Rod Blagojevich, he gives you your money back. You can use it to pay your lawyers.
When you are perceived as a Republican, it goes to charity.
Such is the pattern that has developed since I asked the Blagojevich political people what they were going to do with the M & M Amusements contribution after the firm was indicted by the U.S. Attorney’s office for running video poker machines in the near west suburbs and Chicago.
I didn’t get a return call, but M & M Amusements got a $500 check on April 28th.
This reporting period former Democratic National Committee Finance Chairman Joseph Cari, a Chicago resident who has plead guilty in the Downstate Teachers Retirement Fund scandal, got a $15,000 refund.
Blagojevich appointed Steven Loren, also caught up in the pension scandal, received his $4,500 back, too.
But not multi-indicted and supposed Republican Stuart Levine of alleged Crystal Lake Mercy hospital kickback and pension fund kickback fame. His $4,267 contribution was directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
